So on Thursday, Shae went to her 10:40am PT session with Jenna, then went straight to pool therapy, and then got back in the car and went back to PT for her second session at 1:10pm. Shae did all of the same things in pool therapy as she did on Tuesday, she did the aqua jogger where she does a bike type movement with her legs while she has a float belt around her waist, then she does self-circumduction (Range of Motion) where she stands and moves her surgical leg in a circular movement. And then today, they gave her a pull-buoy and allowed her to swim some laps with just using her arms. She said it felt okay except that it was hard for her hip to hold the pull-buoy in between her legs. But that just means that Shae will need to learn how to hold the pull-buoy by using her abs instead of using her hip flexors. Overall, Shae said that she really enjoys pool therapy and that it makes her hip feel good, and that it helps to loosen her leg.
