Last night in Vail

After a day full of double PT sessions, and packing up 6 weeks worth of stuff, we finally decided that it was time to eat dinner. So we went to one of our favorite restaurants in the village, Oaskis. Oasakis is a tiny sushi restaurant that is hidden near the Vail Plaza Hotel. They have really fresh sushi and we always enjoy ourselves there. So, after a night of sushi, we of course made a pit stop at the Creperie to say goodbye to the guy who works there. We have become good friends with him, since he has constantly seen us go in there on crutches this entire summer as well as the whole of last summer. The Creperie was already closing, but he especially opened up the ice cream for us and gave Shae a free HUGE cup full of Cupcake flavor ice cream. The longer you stay in Vail, the more friends you make and you actually become more of a local then a visitor.

Then, we went to walk off the food and went to take a look at the new movie theatre and bowling alley that has just opened in the village. And then in true Van Embden style we had some fun.

Talya and my Mom had just got a PRPs in each of their hips the day before and they were still really stiff and sore. So, my mom borrowed one of my crutches to help her walk through the village.
