For the first week or so after hip surgery, some patients aren't always in the mood to go out for lunches or for anything in general. Every person is different but when I had my hip surgeries, I only wanted to go to physical therapy for the first week, and then once I had made it to that one week mark, I was ready to go exploring and to get out in order to avoid cabin fever.
For Shae, Day 3 was the day where she made it out. Shae had a full day. She went to her first PT session at 8am this morning, then went to have a post-op X-ray right after, then came home and fell asleep for a little until she had to go back to the hospital for her post-op appointment with Philippon at 11:30, and then she went to her last PT session of the day at 12pm.
After all of that, we took Shae out for lunch to a restaurant called La Bottega. It is a great little Italian restaurant which is 2 minutes from the hospital. It has become our local hangout with all the surgeries that we have had here in Vail. It is yummy, quick, and close. She had a good meal, and then we took her back to PT to ice.
Finally, after all of that, Shae went to the supermarket with my mom.
After the supermarket, Shaggie made it home for bathtime, and straight into bed for CPM, and what a shocker, but she is currently asleep.
