Waking up from Surgery

Shae was wheeled into surgery at 3:35, and came out of surgery at 6:00 this afternoon. She did really really well. She is not in any pain at the moment because the epidural will last until 2am tomorrow morning. So, in the meantime she is completely numb from the waist down, so that is helping her stay pain free.

For tonight, Shae will stay overnight a the hospital, until tomorrow morning when she will be discharged and will go downstairs to Howard Head Sports Rehab Center, for physical therapy. Physical therapy is 2 times a day, for 7 days a week. She will have to ride the bike, and start moving straight away. It is not fun at first, but Shae is in the best care.

Here's a picture of Shae and I when I was saying goodnight to her.

Here's a video of Shae in the CPM machine. The CPM machine, is a machine, where the leg lies in, and gets moved back and forth in order to prevent stiffness, scaring, and it helps keep the motion in the leg. She has to use this machine for 3 weeks, for about 4-6 hours every day. Since she still has the epidural in effect, Shae had no idea that her leg was moving. When I told her, she thought that I was making it up. And so, we took a video of us showing her that her leg is actually moving, even though she can't feel anything.

Oh, and Shae once again, asked "how long she would feel like this," because she likes the feeling....gotta love DJ 2 Shae.
